Lymphocyte Proliferation Assay 2: Advanced
We recommend that the basic test of lymphocyte proliferation be performed before this more detailed evaluation is considered.
If a test product is found to modulate lymphocyte proliferation in response to a known stimulus, then a more comprehensive analysis can be undertaken.
A more detailed analysis of which lymphocyte subsets are affected with respect to the proliferative response involves flow cytometry analysis of cell
division combined with markers of T cell subsets (CD4, CD8), and a marker for B lymphocytes (CD19).
Further analysis can also include evaluation of cytokine production, as well as phenotypic analysis of expression of
specific T and B lymphocyte activation markers.
